Barcelona City Council, through Barcelona Activa, has launched the seventh ‘Impulsem el que fas’ [We promote what you do] call for subsidies to finance projects that help to boost the local economy in the city’s neighbourhoods.

For the third time, these subsidies include an exclusive line, category 5, for new or existing projects that seek to promote sustainable food and responsible consumption in Barcelona.

Thanks to these funds, it is expected that some thirty initiatives that promote this new food and consumption model will be financed, joining the 122 initiatives that have received support since 2017.

Subsidy applications can be submitted up to 11 May.

Subsidy amount

The projects selected will receive up to 80% of their total budget, up to a maximum of 40,000 euros, a significant economic injection to finance new local projects and to enable them to get their activity under way, particularly since the subsidies are paid as soon as the decision is made.

As regards the selection criteria, aspects such as viability and sustainability are taken into account, along with experience in the project field and the impact on and synergies with the community, and the subsidies are awarded on a competitive basis.
