The initiatives that receive support from this programme are aligned with the Healthy and Sustainable Food Strategy 2030.

The seventh edition of the Impulsem el que Fas subsidy programme, organised by Barcelona City Council through Barcelona Activa, will finance a total of 156 local economy projects in the city’s neighbourhoods, with a budget of €2.5 million.
The 29 projects approved in category 5, which corresponds to projects that promote sustainable food and responsible consumption, will receive 500,000 euros, with sums ranging from €7,500 to €28,500 euros. In this regard, it should be remembered that the programme finances up to 80% of the total budget for each project, with a maximum subsidy of €40,000.
Two examples of projects selected
Among the projects subsidised that seek to promote sustainable food and responsible consumption in Barcelona are the project from the Associació de Pagesia de Mercabarna, which aims to promote short-circuit marketing among the group of farmers and cooperatives that sell local produce directly to Mercabarna.
Also, the initiative from Biogrup, which specialises in the distribution of organic food, which will be using the funding to create a technical guide on organic farming food quality and a price market. The aim is to standardise quality criteria in the delivery of agro-ecological products for consumption in school canteens and other collective catering settings.
These two projects, like all the other subsidised initiatives, are aligned with the Healthy and Sustainable Food Strategy 2030.
2024 Call for Applications
The next call for applications will open in the second quarter of 2024, and is expected to include new categories so that more Barcelona residents can promote their projects through Impulsem el que fas.
