This initiative is part of the Mans al Verd or “All hands to greenery” project, the aim of which is to activate green plots of land in the city on Council-owned land currently not in use. You can get more information about it here.

What are the plots of land included in the tender?

The plots will be assigned for a non-extendable period of four years as part of the Mans al Verd programme, with the aim of creating urban allotments, a garden or biodiversity space there. Work will also be done on aspects that improve and integrate the social fabric, with the involvement of the general public and social players in the area.

At present there are 17 actives spaces in the city run by various organisations, associations and political groups. This new assignment includes seven new plots in four of the city’s 10 districts, at the following locations.

• Carrer de Rosés, 8 (Sants-Montjuïc)
• Carretera Alta de les Roquetes, 56-58 (Horta-Guinardó)
• Pintor Alsamora, 20 (Nou Barris)
• Passeig de Valldaura, 271 / Avinguda de Rio de Janeiro, 100 (Nou Barris)
• Plaça d’Isabel Vilà / Carrer dels Almogàvers, 207 (Sant Martí)
• Carrer de la Llacuna, 35 (Sant Martí)
• Carrer del Doctor Trueta, 100 / Carrer d’Àlaba, 24 (Sant Martí)

How can I apply?

Applications may be submitted from 26 April to 7 June 2022, both dates inclusive. They should be submitted electronically or virtually and must meet the technical requirements, format and size limit stated in the procedure. The proposals must be addressed to the Area of Urban Ecology at Barcelona City Council.

If you wish to submit the form electronically, it is available via this link at the Barcelona City Council Virtual Office, and must be addressed to the Area of Urban Ecology at Barcelona City Council. For in-person procedures, applications can be submitted at any office of the Barcelona City Council General Registry, any Citizen Help and Information Office (OAC) or the Area of Urban Ecology.

Through this initiative, the City Council seeks to generate an opportunity for residents to temporarily find a new use for the empty plots across the city and to involve social players in their regeneration and revitalisation. If you have any doubts on how to present the application, you can contact the people responsible for sustainability in the districts or the Active Democracy Department.
